Clinical Counselling


Katrina has plenty of experience as a trauma-informed counsellor working with a wide range of populations including teenagers, adults and older adults of diverse backgrounds in varying mental health care settings, including wilderness therapy organizations. Katrina walks alongside you to process your experiences and offers insights, tools and resources to help you tap into your inner wisdom and to assist you to develop a sense of presence, internal safety, joy, and peace. In doing so, she supports you to grow your capacity for connection to yourself, others and the world around you. Katrina has a caring, compassionate and gentle presence and has a gift for truly hearing your story, highlighting the meaning in it and offering a new narrative for your life experiences. Her education has also granted her with the ability to recognize the societal and systemic factors that impact individuals’ experiences. She believes that you are the expert of your own life and invites you to come as you are by co-creating a space that is strengths-based, free from judgment, and filled with empathy.

Katrina draws upon various therapeutic modalities, including Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems/parts work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Methods, Nature-Based Practices, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She intentionally selects each modality to promote deeper self-awareness, self-empowerment and healing to support individuals to reach their goals. Her practice is grounded in attachment theory, polyvagal theory, systems theory, and the connection between the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual body.

Katrina loves to laugh and enjoys a variety of outdoor adventure activities, such as backcountry skiing, rock climbing, canoeing, and mountain biking and finds being in nature deeply healing. She has also been an avid mindfulness meditator and yogi for the past 12 years.
